We may modify the terms of use at our discretion. We invite you to review them periodically when browsing our websites to learn about any changes. Please refer to the date of the last update.

By using our sites, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Information content and its use

The website’s content contains general information about automobile, home and business insurance, as well as certain other types of property and casualty (P&C) insurance for Quebec, for information purposes only.

This information should not be interpreted as modifying an insurance policy or as providing legal or financial advice. Moreover, we do not promote the products and services of third parties.

You may copy, print, download or transmit part of the content for personal use only, provided you indicate the source, where applicable.

Links to other sites (hyperlinks)

Our website may include hyperlinks to other sites to facilitate your browsing experience. We do not control and have not approved the content of these sites. These hyperlinks should not be considered a recommendation of or approval of the content of the sites to which they refer, or of third parties or of their products and services. Consequently, we do not assume any responsibility for such content.

To create a link between our website and another site, you must obtain our prior written consent. This consent will be subject to certain conditions, in particular that of not suggesting or indicating, directly or indirectly, that we are in any way associated with that site or its authors, or that we approve of its content. Furthermore, we reserve the right to withdraw our consent at any time, at our discretion.

Intellectual property

This website’s content, including, in particular, all trademarks, logos, drawings, text, videos and slogans, is protected by Canadian and foreign copyright laws. All right, title and interest in and to the website, and all of our trademarks are our exclusive property or that of third parties who have granted us licences or usage rights.

We reserve the right to remove comments without notice or to not publish them, particularly when they are discriminatory, defamatory, derogatory, threatening or disrespectful to our organization, our members or the participants. We will also remove any comments that contain, for example, personal information or promotional or political content.

Privacy protection

We recommend that you not send us personal information via the Internet or by email unless measures have been taken to protect it.

We invite you to consult our Privacy Policy.

Information collected for statistical purposes – Use of IP addresses and cookies

We use Google Analytics, a product of Google LLC, to analyze browsing behaviour on our website and produce statistical reports on visitors’ activities. Google Analytics collects the following information in particular: the number of visitors to our site, the type of browser, browser language and operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Linux) used by the visitors, the date, time and duration of their visit, the pages they viewed, and the website address from which they accessed our website.

To collect this information, Google Analytics uses a tracking technology involving small data files known as “cookies” installed on your device when you visit our site. These cookies can be retrieved by the server during subsequent visits. They are installed for a period of 30 days to two years. Google Analytics also uses your IP address (an IP address, for example 123.45.67.89, identifies a computer connected to the Internet).

The information collected and part of your IP address are then transmitted to and stored at Google Analytics in the United States so the company can produce statistics. The last part of your IP address, which can be used to determine the exact location of your computer, is not transmitted to Google. So no identifying information about the user is gathered.

If you would like information about how Google Analytics operates, refer to the section “HOW GOOGLE USES INFORMATION FROM SITES OR APPS THAT USE OUR SERVICES” at https://www.google.ca/intl/en/policies/privacy/partners/.

All users with login access to the secured content of our site agree to the following:

  • I will not reveal to anyone the user code and password assigned to me by IBC.
  • I will only use the user code and password assigned to me.
  • I will treat any information from IBC confidentially and will not disclose this information to a third party, unless it is previously authorized in writing by IBC, or if this information is already available to the public.
  • I will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the information I provide to IBC is accurate and comprehensive.
  • I will not collect, use or disclose personal information obtained by IBC unless authorized in writing by the IBC.
  • I have read and understood the privacy statement above and will comply. I understand that if I do not comply, I am subject to corrective action by IBC.

BY BROWSING OUR WEBSITE AND BY USING THE TOOLS MADE AVAILABLE TO YOU, SUCH AS THE FORMS, YOU AGREE TO DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. THIS WEBSITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT ANY REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION, THAT THE WEBSITE WILL CONTINUE TO OPERATE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION OR THAT THE WEBSITE OR THE HYPERLINKS DO NOT CONTAIN ANY VIRUSES OR ANY OTHER MALICIOUS, DESTRUCTIVE OR DISRUPTIVE PROGRAMS. IN THAT REGARD, YOU RELEASE US FROM ANY LIABILITY RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OUR WEBSITE.
