From 2016 to 2018, IBC travelled throughout Quebec with its earthquake simulator, the Quake Cottage, visiting various towns and organizations.
For 30 seconds, participants experience an earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale. The activity helps make visitors more aware of earthquake risks and understand what they can do to stay safe.
Every year, some 450 earthquakes happen in eastern Canada. A major event may take place in Quebec in the future.
The Quake Cottage experience is a powerful one. People become more aware of the risks associated with earthquakes, and they also learn what they can do to protect themselves.
